Daycations are a great way to get access to hotel facilities and amenities at the fraction of usual prices – perfect for all those who proclaim “I’m not going to pay just to spend half the time sleeping”.

The newly-renovated HarbourVille Hotel at Hamilton offers a simple deluxe room from just $50. While there are no pools or gyms available, you can loan board games such as Monopoly, Jenga, Snakes and Ladders and also Poker cards for free, with movie projectors and Nintendo games at an extra charge.

XY Hotel – From $105 for a half-day stay
